# Brand Kit

> Tell ZeroRank your voice so it writes content that sounds like you.

The Brand Kit is where you teach ZeroRank about your brand. You fill it in once. After that, everything ZeroRank writes for you uses it.

That means every article and every workflow draft draws from the same place. So your content sounds like you, not like a robot.

Open the Brand Kit from the **Improve** menu. It has three tabs. Let's go through each one.

## The three tabs

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Brand Kit">
    This tab holds the words that make your brand *yours*. It is split into five parts.

    <AccordionGroup>
      <Accordion title="Brand identity">
        The basics about your brand and who you sell to.

        * **Name** — what your brand is called.
        * **URL** — your website address.
        * **About the brand** — what you do, in a few sentences.
        * **About your ideal customer** — who you most want to reach.
        * **Competitors** — the other brands you race against.
        * **Brand point of view** — what you believe and stand for.
      </Accordion>

      <Accordion title="Voice and tone">
        How your brand sounds when it talks.

        * **Author persona** — who is "speaking" in your writing. A friendly guide? A sharp expert?
        * **Tone of voice** — the mood of your words. Warm, bold, calm, playful.
      </Accordion>

      <Accordion title="Writing style">
        The small rules that keep your writing tidy.

        * **Writing rules** — things to always do or never do. For example, "keep sentences short" or "no slang."
        * **Header case style** — how you write headings. Sentence case ("How it works") or Title Case ("How It Works").
      </Accordion>

      <Accordion title="Calls to action">
        The nudge at the end that tells readers what to do next.

        * **CTA text** — the words on the button or link. A call to action (CTA) is the "do this next" message.
        * **CTA destination** — where that link sends people.
      </Accordion>

      <Accordion title="Writing sample">
        A real piece of your own writing for ZeroRank to copy.

        * **Sample title** — the headline of the piece.
        * **URL** — where it lives, if it is online.
        * **Outline** — the main points it covers.
        * **Body** — the actual text.

        ZeroRank reads this to learn your style. This part matters most. More on that below.
      </Accordion>
    </AccordionGroup>
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Audience segments">
    Not everyone who reads your content is the same. Audience segments let you spell out each group you write for.

    For each segment you add:

    * **Name** — a short label, like "New buyers" or "IT managers."
    * **Description** — who they are in plain words.
    * **Characteristics** — what they care about, worry about, or want.

    When ZeroRank writes, it can aim a piece at one segment. The result speaks to that group, not a faceless crowd.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Knowledge base">
    The knowledge base is the pile of facts ZeroRank can pull from when it writes. This keeps your content true and on-brand.

    You can add three kinds of entries:

    * **Text** — paste in facts, notes, or a product blurb.
    * **Link** — point to a page ZeroRank can read.
    * **File** — upload a document.

    Every entry has a **title** so you can find it, and **content** for ZeroRank to use.

    <Note>
      Add things that do not change often, like product details, key numbers, or your founder story. ZeroRank can quote these instead of guessing.
    </Note>
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## Where the Brand Kit gets used

Two big things lean on your Brand Kit:

* **Content generation** — when you [create content](/improve/create-content), ZeroRank writes it in your voice using the kit.
* **Workflows** — your automatic [workflows](/workflows/overview) write drafts the same way, on a schedule.

Fill the kit once, and both get better at the same time.

<Tip>
  The writing sample is your secret weapon. Paste in a real article you are proud of. ZeroRank copies its rhythm and style, so the writing sounds far more like you than rules alone ever could.
