# Sign up and set up

> Create your account and finish setup in a few short steps.

Setup walks you through one screen at a time. It takes a few minutes. When you finish, ZeroRank already knows your brand, your competitors, and the questions to track for you.

  Every plan starts with a **7-day free trial** with every feature turned on. You will not be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then.

## Set up your account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Sign in">
    Go to [app.zerorank.ai](https://app.zerorank.ai). You can sign in two ways:

    * **Magic link.** Type your email. We send you a sign-in link. Click it and you are in. No password to remember.
    * **Google.** Click **Continue with Google** and pick your account.

    A magic link is a one-time sign-in link we email to you. You never set a password.

  <Step title="Tell us about your company">
    Pick your **company size**. Check the box if you are an agency. This helps us set things up to fit you.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add your brand">
    Type your **website** (like `example.com`). You can also write a short note about what your brand does. The more you say, the better the results. This is the first brand you track. You can add more later.
  </Step>

  <Step title="ZeroRank looks you up">
    ZeroRank reads your site and finds your top competitors and your industry. This takes a moment. Then it shows you where your brand ranks against those competitors today.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick your region">
    Choose the main **region** and **language** for your audience. ZeroRank asks the AI engines your questions as if it were a person in that place. You can track unlimited countries later.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick your topics">
    Choose the **topics** you want to be found for. A topic is a subject your customers ask about. ZeroRank turns each topic into a set of prompts (a prompt is [a question we ask AI engines for you](/start/glossary)). You can add your own topics too.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a plan and pay">
    Pick **Starter**, **Pro**, or **Enterprise**. Switch to yearly billing to save up to 15%. Start your free trial or enter payment. You will not be charged during the 7-day trial.

  <Step title="Review your prompts">
    ZeroRank suggests prompts for each topic. Read each one. Keep the ones you like and remove the ones you do not. You can also add your own. These become the daily questions ZeroRank tracks for you.

  <Step title="Land on your checklist">
    When you are done, you arrive at the getting-started checklist. It shows the next few things to do to get the most out of ZeroRank.

## What happens next

ZeroRank starts asking your prompts across the AI engines every day. Your first answers (we call each one a [chat](/start/glossary)) show up soon after. Give it a day or two to fill in.
